Jaipur-based designer Kirti Rathore whose collection touches the heart of people, for the upcoming Spring/Summer season Rathore has re-introduced Nehru jackets and blazers along with bandhgalas in linen and hunter shirts in jute. The range also includes of smart shirts in pastel shades and prints. According to the designer, Nehru jackets are back in fashion as they can be teamed with a nice shirt or even a kurta . The baggy look for bottoms, give a comfort feel.
The designer having strengthened her domestic presence is now all set to spread its wings beyond India. She is preparing for her upcoming shows in Honk Kong (a trunk show), Lawman Page 3 (a 26 cities tour), Udaipur International Fashion Week and an EPIC show on Mahatma Gandhi. The designer is popular for her menâ€™s breaches, bandhgala , hunter shirts and sherwanis . Rathore is of the view that India being a country with diversified culture offers many choices and can create lots of trends within the country due to the varied culture, while people abroad are more formal in their approach.
She is working on creating blazers that could be turned into bandhgalas that can be used as both formal and casual wear. And for smart summer look, she plans to introduce shirt jackets.
Rathoreâ€™s collection is available in Kolkata and Pune. They plan to open more stores globally in places like Dubai apart from opening a store in Mumbai soon. Export is also seen as a good option, since they have a large base in Europe, Middle East where a vast Indian community is present.
Rathoreâ€™s coming into the fashion world from an orthodox royal family was not an easy decision. Her work has won her many accolades. She has also worked on designs for movies like Bol Bachan and actors like Vivek Oberoi, Ajay Devgan, Amitabh Bhachan for KBC. Today, she has many top national and international shows under her belt.
