Kendal Textile Industrial Complex to be inaugurated on Aug 25

Kendal Industrial Complex of national textiles is set to be one of the fashion cities in Indonesia that is expected to help accommodate SMEs will be inaugurated by President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on August 25 in Kendal District, Central Java, which will also be attended by Singaporean Prime Minister, Lee Hsien Loong.

Kendal Industrial Complex is a joint venture between Graha Buana Cikarang, and a Singaporean company, Sembcorp Development Indonesia Pte. Ltd.
The complex is built on a 1,000 and 1,200 hectares site. There are as many as 12 companies setting up a roster in it.

Industry Minister Airlangga Hartarto said that he supports the industrial complex as it will boost their competitiveness in the domestic and international market.

As a fashion city, Airlangga said that the industrial complex will be equipped with several facilities, such as research and development of textile products, as well as expo venues. It is also expects the facilities to help absorb more manpower.
