Karnataka govt to sign MoU with Germany to whet the skills of ITI students

The Karnataka government is focusing on giving top priority to developing skills of the youth to ensure that they do not remain unemployed after passing out from Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) for which they will sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the German government to train students of ITIs and develop their multi-disciplinary skills.

P.T. Parmeshwar Naik, Minister of State for Labour informed that the first round of talks was over and the second round between the authorities would commence soon to finalize the details.

However, the academic experts, trade industrial and business houses have come up with suggestion of setting up four skill development centres in all the four revenue divisions in the State to whet their skills, which is under consideration.

Meanwhile, the government has introduced multi-trade courses in select five ITIs, which was for the first time in the country, and had planned to extend it in phases.

The government having received the complaints of fake pass certificates being issued by ‘bogus’ institutions. To prevent students getting admitted into unrecognized ITIs has decided to introduce online admission and biometric admission so that the students would get proper education.
