Karl Mayer has unveiled a collection of Advanced Bubble fabrics that use three-dimensional structures, ruffles and transparent grounds to create sculptural textile surfaces for fashion applications.
The fabrics combine a lightweight, transparent base with raised crinkled stripes that appear to float above the surface. The contrast between transparency, texture and volume gives even simple garments a more distinctive, statement-making appearance.
The fabrics are designed for applications including outerwear and can be produced on Karl Mayer’s HKS 4-M EL ECO warp-knitting machine. Their three-dimensional effects are created through the coordinated action of four ground bars.
The Advanced Bubble fabrics were showcased at ITM 2026 in Istanbul, where the HKS 4-M EL ECO demonstrated the combination of crêpe-on-crêpe effects with transparent, lightweight constructions.
