Karl Mayer opens Textile Innovation Center

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2026-05-04 14:13:48 – Germany

Karl Mayer, based in Germany, has officially launched its Textile Innovation Center (TIC), marking an important step toward advancing global textile innovation and collaboration. The facility was inaugurated during a special opening week held from April 21 to 24, 2026, alongside Techtextil Frankfurt 2026.

Covering an area of about 5,000 square meters, the TIC is designed as a complete innovation ecosystem. It brings together warp knitting, technical textiles, and warp preparation technologies in one location, reflecting Karl Mayer’s key areas of expertise.

The center is not just a production facility but also a platform for collaboration. It allows different stakeholders to work together from the initial concept stage to near-market prototypes, helping reduce development time and speed up the process of bringing products to market.

The inclusion of the Karl Mayer Academy further strengthens the center’s role in skill development. It will provide specialised training for technicians, brands, and students, helping to build industry knowledge and support future workforce needs.

Industry experts believe that this launch reflects a wider shift in the textile sector, where innovation, collaboration, and advanced materials are becoming key drivers of growth. The TIC is expected to act as a central hub connecting fibre producers, manufacturers, brands, and researchers, enabling faster and more market-focused solutions.
