Karl Mayer is set to introduce new warp knit seersucker fabrics that feature enhanced texture and surface effects, giving the material greater depth and visual appeal. This advancement is made possible through the company’s latest 4-bar tricot machine, which will be unveiled at the upcoming ITMA Asia + CITME 2025 exhibition.

The machine uses its full 2-inch shogging line to create eye-catching patterns. In this process, GB 3 and GB 4 form the fabric base, while GB 1 and GB 2 knit a core yarn that combines an elastane core with a polyamide cover. This structure adds flexibility, protects the yarn, and improves colour consistency. A multifilament yarn further contributes to the fabric’s softness and stretch.

One of the key highlights is the use of long underlaps that form flowing zigzag lines intersecting into large diamond shapes. The elasticity pulls the corners inward and pushes them outward, resulting in a bubble-like surface with a strong three-dimensional look. When paired with prints, the fabric delivers a striking and expressive effect, aligning with the rising popularity of seersucker in modern fashion.

At ITMA Asia + CITME 2025, Karl Mayer’s 4-bar tricot machine will present four pattern designs, including a series of creative variations, at booth A 301 in Hall 5 of the Singapore EXPO. Visitors will have the opportunity to experience the new design potential of seersucker fabrics in Karl Mayer’s textile showcase.
