Joules partners with Reskinned to launch resale service

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2022-09-25 13:52:12 – United Kingdom

UK High Street fashion brand, Joules, has announced the launch of a new resale platform, which is part of its partnership with clothing platform Reskinned, as part of its Joules ReWear program.

The launch coincides with the start of Oxfam’s Second-Hand September campaign, which aims to persuade consumers to exclusively purchase used goods for 30 days in September.

Through the resale marketplace, Joules consumers will be able to purchase any pre-loved and repaired Joules clothing that has been returned to customers for re-homing, preventing the likelihood that things may wind up in landfills.

Customers will be able to find hundreds of good-as-new fashions, from classic items to ones that have never been seen before, all at affordable prices, through the Joules ReWear online site.

The grading of clothing involves a comprehensive inspection of its quality and condition as well as ozone cleaning. The Reskinned team personally selects and curates each item, ensuring that each item is in excellent condition and prepared to be transported to its new home.

On Earth Day in April 2022, Joules and Reskinned unveiled their first takeback program with the goal of allowing consumers to recycle their gently used Joules apparel, accessories, and footwear.

The technology underlying the ReWear online store, which allows consumers to return unwanted clothing and earn a coupon for money off their subsequent Joules purchase, is powered by Reskinned. Items that are returned are subsequently ethically recycled, reused, or sold again "as good as new."

The partnership is part of the brand's commitment to operating responsibly and sustainably, as well as the Group's ongoing commitment to delivering on its Responsibly Joules goals that benefit the environment, its workforce, and larger communities.

Ruby Fowler, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager at Joules, said that they're very delighted with the success their takeback scheme has already had, which also further demonstrates the outstanding quality of Joules goods. Reskinned's efforts strongly connect with their Responsibly Joules strategy, and they recognize how important it is to do everything they can to eliminate waste and strengthen the circularity of their sector. These businesses provide clients with convenience and give second-hand clothing a new lease of life. It benefits the world and its consumers equally.

Matt Hanrahan Co-Founder at Reskinned, added that they're thrilled to be collaborating with a business that has a history of producing clothing made from ethically sourced materials that can be handed down to family and friends with a little maintenance and repair. Their collaboration helps those used items live longer by finding new homes and preventing landfill waste.
