Isko x Arena launch ethically designed fashion collection

The Turkish denim mill Isko joins hands with the Italian aquatic apparel company Arena, to launch an iconic Fall/Winter 2020 collection with unisex denim pieces that merge comfort with an edgy aesthetic look.

Isko had previously bolstered the profile of jeans in athleisure nearly a decade ago and is now establishing a new partnership to take its performance fabrics to new heights.

The collection features Bluejym, which Isko’s versatile and lightweight denim fabric that has a soft, knit-like hand feel. The fabric has been enhanced with Isko Blue Skin, a stretch technology with 360-degree elasticity. This ensures the fabric moves with the body without tension. This fabric is an internal part of Isko’s athleisure range of performance woven fabrics.

Arena is popularly known for its brand’s “creative lab”, where experts mix sports heritage with contemporary trends. Roberto Tiburzi, Arena product category manager, stated that the goal was to give birth to garments characterized by the maximum freedom of use. He stated that with respect to denim it represented the most iconic expression of freedom in clothing and hence was chosen by the company.

The denim garments in the collection reflect the aesthetic of ’80s activewear. The black jeans have been curated from joggers with a patch logo near the front pocket. The collection also features a unisex jacket that has asymmetrical panels of black-and-white denim. The logo has been designed with a jacquard weave that is placed on the sleeve of the jacket. The collection also offers a reversible half-zip jacket, bomber jacket and cropped women’s hoodie. This has been designed to reflect the bold multi-coloured print from the ’80s.

The established collaboration aims to fulfil the consumer’s demands on comfortable and versatile garments that are made with the highest standards of sustainability.

Isko has been granted third-party certifications such as STeP by OEKO-TEX and has partnered with sustainable organizations such as Textile Exchange, ZDHC, SAC, Sedex and Bluesign to ensure the industry gets involved in responsible practices.

In June, Isko published its first Sustainability Impact Report documenting its sustainable initiatives and stepping closer to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

The companies share a commitment to newness and legacy. The newly launched collection is a testament to the importance of authentic while keeping up with innovation. Elena Faleschini, the Isko global field marketing manager, stated that this was the reason they joined forces to rethink the past and define a better future with a brand that shares their goals and values, and works to promote a better industry to ensure a better future for all.
