Pakistani textile manufacturer Interloop has joined Amsterdam-based Fashion for Good as an Innovation Partner to support the development and scaling of next-generation textile technologies. The partnership gives Interloop a seat on Fashion for Good’s Innovation Committee, allowing it to contribute to technology scouting priorities, project development and pilot programmes.
The partnership aims to connect emerging textile technologies with practical manufacturing requirements. Interloop will gain earlier access to new innovations, while startups and brands will have opportunities to assess and test their technologies in industrial settings.
The collaboration is already underway through Fashion for Good’s Cotton Reloop Matrix Project, which evaluates commercially available recycled cotton yarns against brand specifications to better understand the relationship between yarn quality, price and recycled content.
As part of the Cotton Reloop Matrix initiative, the project team plans to develop 10 demonstrator fabrics, conduct five quality-improvement trials and publish an open-source spinning procedure. These activities are intended to help the industry assess recycled cotton yarns more consistently and identify opportunities to improve their performance and adoption.
