Infinited Fiber Company’s Infinna fiber receives SCS certification

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2022-04-05 02:03:24 – Finland

Circular fashion and textile technology group, Infinited Fiber Company, has received SCS Global Services Recycled Content Standard accreditation for its Infinna fiber.

SCS Global Services has certified Infinited Fiber's Infinna textile fiber as having a minimum of 99 percent post-consumer recycled content.

Inspection, testing, and certification business SCS Global Services (SCS) tracked and verified the Infinna production process to ensure that it contained "a minimum 99 percent post-consumer recycled cellulose."

SCS Recycled Content Certification is an international standard for any product that contains at least 5% recycled material, with the purpose of boosting recycled material use in goods and supply chains. Recycled Content certification verifies that a product has a certain percentage of recycled content from both pre-and post-consumer sources.

Meanwhile, Infinited Fiber Company's technology transforms cellulose-based raw materials, such as cotton-rich textile waste, into Infinna, a high-quality regenerated textile fiber with the natural, soft feel of cotton. Infinna is biodegradable and free of microplastics, and clothing created with it can be recycled in the same way as other textile waste at the end of their lives.

Petri Alava, CEO and co-founder of Infinited Fiber Company, said that at their pilot facilities, they use cotton-rich post-consumer textile waste as the sole raw material in the production of their regenerated Infinna textile fiber, and having external proof in the form of the SCS Global Recycled Content Certification is a big milestone for them.
