Indorama unveils recycled flame-retardant fabrics

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2026-01-22 14:25:38 – Thailand

Indorama Ventures has announced the availability of Trevira CS flame-retardant fabrics and filament yarns made with 50 percent recycled polyester for use in home and contract textiles. The new fabrics were introduced at the Heimtextil exhibition held in Frankfurt from January 13 to 16.

According to Trevira’s global key account manager for flame retardancy, the development has been made possible through Indorama’s joint venture with Jiaren Chemical Recycling. The recycler processes textile waste from both consumers and industry to produce recycled polyester chips, which are then used to manufacture Trevira’s flame-retardant fibres and yarns. Fabrics made from these materials can qualify for the Trevira CS Eco label, combining circular practices with the long-standing flame-retardant performance of the Trevira CS brand.

Indorama Ventures announced its partnership with Jiaren Chemical Recycling in November 2025 as part of its strategy to support large-scale textile circularity. The new recycled Trevira CS fibres and yarns are one of the first results of this collaboration, offering more resource-efficient textiles without reducing comfort or safety.
