In a significant step towards advancing sustainable industrial practices, Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL) and ABA Group have joined hands to enhance energy efficiency, water management, and environmental standards across ABA Group’s operations.
The partnership was officially announced at a ceremony held in Dhaka, attended by senior representatives from both organizations. This collaboration builds on their earlier joint efforts through IDCOL’s Energy Efficiency Window and Biogas Program. In particular, the renewed alliance aims to accelerate the use of energy-efficient technologies and renewable energy within Bangladesh’s ready-made garments (RMG) sector.
ABA Group established the country’s first LEED Platinum-certified factory and now operates multiple LEED-accredited facilities. The company has already implemented advanced systems for wastewater treatment, water reuse, and energy optimization.
“Our commitment to responsible manufacturing lies at the heart of what we do,” said Sajjadur Rahman Mridha, Chairman of ABA Group. “Through this partnership with IDCOL, we can continue improving our environmental performance and set higher benchmarks for sustainable industry practices.”
