Hoorain Hi-Tech Fabrics Ltd. (Hoorain HTF), a leading woven textile producer under Bangladesh’s Jamuna Group, has signed an agreement to install a 13.5 MWp solar power system at its production facilities, marking a major step toward sustainable manufacturing in the country’s textile sector.
Rozalin Islam, Director of Jamuna Group, signed the agreement on behalf of the company. The initiative aims to reduce carbon emissions, improve energy efficiency, and set a new benchmark for large-scale solar adoption in Bangladesh’s apparel industry.
Once operational, the solar system will provide a significant share of the factory’s energy needs, cutting reliance on fossil fuels. The company expects this shift to shrink its environmental footprint and benefit surrounding communities through cleaner energy practices.
Jamuna Group said the solar initiative reflects its commitment to sustainable growth and environmental responsibility. With this project, Hoorain HTF aims to strengthen its competitive edge in the global textile market while pioneering renewable energy integration in large-scale fabric production in Bangladesh.
