H&M's online secondhand shop Sellpy launches app

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2022-03-01 10:27:16 – Sweden

Sellpy, the secondhand platform of Swedish fashion giant H&M, has released an app in both the Apple and Android stores, to give consumers a new method to purchase and sell pre-loved clothing.

H&M Group, through its investment arm CO:LAB, began investing in Sellpy in 2015 and became a majority shareholder in the company in 2019.

H&M Group expanded Sellpy's platform to the Netherlands and Austria in February 2021, after initially launching in Sweden and later expanding to Germany.

Michael Arnör, Co-founder and CEO of Sellpy said that they want to be able to meet their clients wherever they are in order to enable everyone to live circular. They’re pleased to offer this new touchpoint, where customers in all of their 24 markets can update their wardrobes and homes in a more sustainable way, as part of their efforts to create a smooth and frictionless shopping experience.

Max Frelén, Chief Product Officer of Sellpy, said that they’re extremely pleased to announce the debut of their e-commerce on both iOS and Android. They’re going to iterate on it over the coming months, but it now covers the most important features of second-hand shopping. They intend to gradually introduce more features in order to improve the shopping experience.
