Himatsingka Seide to foray into spinning and terry towel manufacturing

Himatsingka Seide, is a design focused, vertically integrated home textile major with its backward integration strategy to foray into spinning and terry towels manufacturing for which the company, will invest Rs 1281 crores to expand the group's manufacturing facility at Hassan, Karnataka increasing in its current sheeting capacity from 23 million meters per annum (MMPA) to 46 MMPA. The investments will be done in phases over the next three years.

In addition, Himatsingka Seide will set spinning and terry towels facilities with capacity of 211000 spindles and 25000 tonnes per annum respectively.

Shrikant Himatsingka, executive director, Himatsingka Seide talking over the expansion plan said that these growth initiatives are synergistic with their current nature and scale of operations and they will help consolidate the Group’s position in the global home textile space.

The Himatsingka Group operates over 12 brands globally in the home textiles space. Its brand portfolio includes marquee brands such as Calvin Klein Home, Barbara Berry, Espirit, Bellora and Atmosphere. In addition, the group also has a strong foothold in the private label space.

The Group operates amongst the largest capacities in the world for producing upholstery fabrics, drapery fabrics and bed linen products. With a team of over 5000 people, the Group continues to expand its reach and build capacities in the Home Textile space.
