Gucci has announced the launch of circular luxury hub in Italy. The hub's mission is to promote the adoption of circular operations in the region's fashion sector.
The open platform, known as "Circular Hub," is backed by the parent business of the brand, Kering, and aims to enable the circular production of luxury goods by assisting in the transformation of the entire value chain, from raw materials to logistics.
According to Gucci, its process is in line with Italy's National Recovery and Resilience Plan, a plan connected to the EU's 2030 carbon reduction goals.
The hub, which is situated in Tuscany, will include a variety of Kering facilities, starting with Gucci's production sites and its Italian raw material suppliers, and gradually expanding to other brands in the group and the broader industry.
The business will also promote circular logistics techniques, establish a research and development center, and form cooperative industrial collaborations.
In the end, the Circular Hub hopes to benefit the luxury fashion sector in a variety of ways, from collaborative research to the advancement of nearby industrial facilities.
Gucci stated that via economies of scale and intention, it hoped to help reduce the negative effects of Italian manufacturing and raw material supply chains on the environment and society.
Marie-Claire Daveu, chief sustainability and institutional affairs officer at Kering, said that the fashion sector needs to accelerate and launch real steps to catalyze deep change, rethinking how they create and consume resources as well. The development of their Circular Hub is a significant step in this direction. He is overjoyed that the hub will be established in Italy, which is home to some of the Group's most dependable and esteemed production hubs and know-how.
