GTTES 2015 sees footfall hitting a new high on Day-2

India's leading textile engineering expo, ‘GTTES-2015’ that opened on 20 January in Mumbai saw exhibitor’s footfall on a rise on Day 2. The second day began with a seminar on the Textile Industry Development of Ethiopia conducted by Seleshi Lemma, Director General, the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.

GTTES 2015 welcomed Ramdas Kadam, Cabinet Minister of Environment. Kadam personally visited each exhibitor and appalled their participation. He also encouraged and assured to boost the textile sector and its various requirements wherever applicable.

Various textile manufacturers attended this networking seminar which was a readymade platform to interact with the Ethiopian delegates. During the seminar Lemma shared business and textile trade opportunities with Indian Textile manufacturers.

Lemma pointed that, “Ethiopia is the second largest population in Africa with 8.5 million people & forth largest growing economy with a GDP with PPP of US$86.1 billion. There is an immense growth opportunity for Indian textile industry in Ethiopia.”

“After the diversification into the new manufacturing commodities, the average annual export growth of 27.4% over the last 7 consecutive years expected to reach close to 4 billion USD by the end of 2014-2015 fiscal year” Lemma added.

Updeep Singh, MD, ITEMA India quoted, “ GTTES is an excellent platform for textile manufacturers across India, as Indian textile industry is poised to grow to USD 350 billion by 2025”. He also added, “Indian textile manufacturers have to take the advantage of the Chinese economy slowdown & double their growth in textile sector.”

Ms. Seema Srivastava, Executive Director, India ITME Society said that efforts of the Society is always to support the textile engineering industry through creating high quality visitor interaction, new range of technology and new markets.

The 1stedition of GTTES exhibition has grown in stature and prestige beyond expectation with 23 Media partners, 5 educations institutions and 15 supporting organizations.
