Green Theme Technologies (GTT), headquartered in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is set to launch a range of new products based on the Empel dry-finishing platform in 2022.

According to the company, Empel currently provides the highest performance durable water repellent (DWR), anti-wicking, and stain release treatment on the global market, exceeding C6 fluorocarbon choices.

Empel employs no PFOA/PFOS in its chemistry to create water-resistant fabric protection, according to recent independent tests conducted by Bureau Veritas.

Performance garment brands such as Black Diamond, TREW Gear, Stoney Creek, and Artilect are now creating Empel-enabled apparel products, and several household brands will join the list in 2022 after completing field and in-house testing.

David Andreas, CEO of GTT, said that they've been gathering momentum since they launched for business in 2017, and they think 2022 to be a year of strong growth. Because of their current brand partners, consumers are selecting Empel-treated gear because it protects them from the elements better, lasts longer than C6 choices, and the chemistry is free of PFOA and PFOS.
