Grasim Industries’ Cellulosic Fashion Yarn division has introduced Raysileco, a sustainable Viscose Filament Yarn (VFY) launched under the Raysil brand. Made from wood pulp sourced from certified, responsibly managed forests, Raysileco is designed with complete traceability, offering visibility right back to its origin.

Raysileco represents a major step forward in yarn manufacturing, thanks to its integration of both digital and molecular-level traceability technologies. This innovation was officially revealed at the 7th edition of Yarn Expo in Surat, organized by The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

From the production floor to retail shelves, Raysileco provides the entire supply chain with assurance, transparency, and proof of origin. Its standout feature is the combination of physical markers and digital tools that allow for full tracking throughout the value chain. The yarn is produced at Grasim’s manufacturing units in Veraval, Gujarat, and Kalyan, Maharashtra.

Ghosh also emphasized the use of secure technologies in the traceability system. "We’ve partnered with TextileGenesis to provide blockchain-based tracking of our sustainable Viscose Filament Yarn. Using special digital tokens called Fibercoins, we can follow the yarn’s journey from source to store, offering brands a real-time, tamper-proof digital record."
