Good American receives B Corp certification

Denim brand, Good American, has received B Corporation certification, demonstrating its commitment to social and environmental initiatives across its whole organization.

Khloe Kardashian founded the company in 2016 with the goal of promoting body positivity through size-inclusive denim goods with patterns that flatter all body types. According to the company’s website, the label also promotes ethically made sustainable denim that uses environmentally friendly washes and packaging.

The company said that they’ve believed in focusing their efforts on what will have the greatest impact on their community, their business, and the world since day one. That’s why they worked so hard to become a B Corporation.

Good American took to social media five days before the announcement to announce that its open casting program would be relaunched. The campaign, which is headquartered in the United States, is focused on finding the face of the label’s SS22 campaign, with successful applicants also having the opportunity to sign with modeling agency IMG. The open calls are intended to open doors for women who have historically and currently been considered as models,'” with the brand claiming to represent real women.

Businesses must achieve stringent requirements of social and environmental performance, openness, and legal accountability to become B Corp certified, with meticulous goals created and authorized by nonprofit network B Lab.

The eco-friendly designation is gaining traction in the fashion industry, with luxury company Chloé declaring its B Corp status this week.
