GFA launches Asia Policy Matrix to enhance textile supply chains

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2026-05-04 14:11:56 – USA

Global Fashion Agenda (GFA) has introduced the GFA Policy Matrix: Asia, a new resource that outlines sustainability policies across eight major textile-producing countries in the region.

The GFA Policy Matrix is a developing tool designed to map laws and regulations related to textile sustainability. It provides insights into existing and upcoming policies affecting the fashion industry in Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Türkiye, and Vietnam, all of which play an important role in global textile supply chains.

The resource tracks legislative changes related to labour conditions and environmental standards, along with textile-specific policies, circular economy initiatives, and new sustainability requirements emerging across these countries.

Federica Marchionni, CEO of Global Fashion Agenda, stated that the launch of the Asia Policy Matrix is an important step in strengthening the organisation’s work in the region. She noted that their ongoing Circular Fashion Partnerships provide valuable insights into how circular systems can be successfully implemented. This new resource adds to that knowledge by mapping sustainability policies in key manufacturing regions where regulations are evolving quickly.
