G-Star Raw's new collection contains dyes from volcanic rocks and soil

A new wave of ethical and responsible fashion has been gaining momentum all over the world this month as National Environment Month draws attention to the negative effects that the fashion industry has on the environment.

G-Star Raw has ventured into the set of history books of how denim is colored. The items in this new collection use extracted pigments from volcanic rocks and soil to infuse their garments with captivating hues rather than synthetic dyes.

By employing low-energy cold water dyeing methods, the procedure not only honors traditional practices but also significantly reduces its impact on the environment.

The brand's head of maintainability, Rebecka Sancho, said the motivation for this assortment came directly from nature. "This unique and environmentally friendly process derives earth pigments and uses it as a natural dye, a common historical practice for centuries already. So, we really use nature's ways to get colour instead of
something synthetics made in the lab,"

While taking a gander at the assortment, one of its most striking viewpoints are the varieties emerging from it. It features a shocking cluster of woodland greens, volcanic pinks and desert yellows.

Strangely, Sancho said the assortment was not really expected to address the worries of the design business' ecological effect, yet generally to show "that there are perfect and brilliant choices to improve and all the more normally, with less effect.

Indeed, even as that is the situation, the methods utilized in this assortment - which likewise includes denim produced using a mix of 75% regenerative cotton and 25% reused cotton - have a low natural effect. "Recycled cotton often contains much shorter fibers because they have been processed in order to be recycled," Sancho said.

"Together with our partners, we make sure to find the perfect balance in how much recycled cotton we use in one garment to ensure quality and durability. A responsibly made garment that only lasts one season, in the end, is not responsible at all."

However, they provide free repair services in the event that your garment tears or loses a button.
