G-Star Raw has collaborated alongside Jacques Agbobly, founder of the Brooklyn-based label Agbobly, to introduce a women’s low-rise flare jean with a detachable corset, merging sculptural design with cultural storytelling.
The two-in-one garment forms part of G-Star’s “The Denim” series, an ongoing platform that treats denim as a medium for narrative, experimentation and dialogue. Previous collaborations under the series have included KNWLS and Ottolinger, delivering unconventional silhouettes such as inside-out constructions and reimagined Elwood fits.
Sustainability and material innovation are also core to the project. The garment is produced using fabric from Saitex Fabrics in Vietnam and has achieved a Cradle to Cradle Certified Material Health Certificate V4.0 at the Gold level. The 12-ounce denim comprises 74 percent regenerative cotton, 25 percent recycled cotton and one percent elastane, balancing environmental responsibility with comfort and stretch.
Finished with G-Star’s Neo Raw treatment, the denim maintains the sharp aesthetic of raw jeans while slowing the fading process and allowing the fabric to mould more quickly and comfortably to the body.
