Fulgar, The Lycra Company and CSP International Fashion Group have collaborated to launch a new Oroblù tights collection made with bio-derived yarns. The Bio-Derived Sneakers Tights capsule combines Fulgar’s Q-GEO bio-based polyamide with Renewable Lycra EcoMade fibre, bringing renewable-source materials into both of the product’s main yarn components.

Fulgar’s Q-GEO polyamide contains almost 50% bio-based raw material derived from industrial corn grown on land not intended for traditional food crops. The company says the yarn offers softness, breathability and moisture management, with 50% higher moisture absorption than standard polyamide, while retaining strength and durability.

The tights also incorporate Renewable Lycra EcoMade fibre, which contains approximately 70% material derived from industrial corn. According to The Lycra Company, a 2026 life cycle assessment by Ramboll found that the fibre can reduce its cradle-to-gate carbon footprint by up to 45% compared with conventional fossil-based Lycra fibre.

The resulting semi-opaque tights are designed for use with sneakers and ankle boots and feature a reinforced sole intended to improve durability and comfort. The partners said the collaboration demonstrates how bio-derived fibre technologies can be combined across the textile supply chain to develop commercial hosiery products while maintaining the fit, comfort and performance expected from conventional tights.
