First time in UAE an exclusive buyer seller meet showcased Indian cotton textile and cotton products

UAE is an upcoming market for India in terms of textile and textile products with the aim of providing a platform for buyers and seller and creating a market base in the UAE and Gulf regions, a two-day exhibition was inaugurated in Dubai showcasing India's finest cotton products.

Some of the leading exhibitors at the show include Birla century, Adnani exports ltd and Aditya exports.

For the first time in UAE an exclusive buyer seller meet showcasing Indian Cotton Textile and Cotton products targeting the UAE and GCC market titled “Indian Cotton Textile Show” was inaugurated Shri Anurag Bhushan, Consul General of India to UAE in the presence of A Ravi Kumar, Joint Director Texprocil, Sripriyaa Kumaria Director General - ITEC m.e. Honorary Chairman Texmas - Ram Bhagchandani.

The event is organised by Cotton Textile Export Promotion Council (Texprocil) in association with Indian Embassy & Consulate General in UAE and is hosted by India Trade & Exhibition Centre m.e. at Traders Hotel Deira Dubai. The event is also supported by Texmas - Textile Merchants Group in UAE.

Inaugurating the Buyer Seller Meet the Consul General of India Shri Anurag Bhushan mentioned that such industry specific, stand- alone events namely the Indian Cotton Textile Show will foster trade beyond traditional and customary goods between India and UAE. He also mentioned that the Indian Consulate in Dubai will support India Trade and Exhibition in conducting many such Industry specific events in the year 2015.

According to the Director General of India Trade and Exhibition Centre (ITEC) Sripriyaa Kumaria, the show is a unique platform for buyers and sellers to build up linkages and network with the best of the Indian textile industry.

The event focuses on one to one prefixed meetings and showcases India's finest cotton products. There is huge interest in the UAE market for Indian textiles and, in particular cotton textiles, cotton yarn, cotton fabrics and cotton madeups.

The buyer turnout from the UAE for the 2 day event constitutes nearly 41.9 per cent in Cotton Textiles, 33.8 per cent in Cotton Fabrics , 10 per cent in Cotton Madeups & 8 per cent in Cotton Yarns.

The Indian Cotton Textile Show shall be the right platform for UAE buyers to network with the best of the Indian textile industry.

Out of the total textile global exports of over USD 20,939.8 million, the UAE exported over USD 1,623 billion worth of textiles representing a 7.75 per cent share of the global export market. UAE is also the world's third largest exporter of textiles after the US and UK.
