The exhibition titled “Embedded In The Weave” on embroidered tapestries by artist Iram Zia Raja to be held at Satrang Art Gallery on February 11. The exhibition would showcase the impressive pieces of art using ancient textile-making techniques created exclusively by the artist.

The Ambassador of Austria Brigitta Blaha, who has a keen interest in Pakistani art and craft will be inaugurating the exhibition as the chief guest of the event.

According to gallery Director Asma Khan, the artist Iram Raja who is the head of department for Textile Design at the prestigious National College of Arts (NCA) in Lahore, his work narrates the rich traditions and multi-cultural society of this region.

She seeks to create a synthesis of past and present, art and craft and preserve an important segment of Pakistani heritage.

The exhibition will run till March 3, 2016.
