Eurofins unveils zero waste to landfill certification

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2022-10-30 18:05:44 – Luxembourg

In order to support its customers' fact-based pledges to zero waste, the Eurofins Assurance network of firms is pleased to announce the launch of a new Zero Waste to Landfill Certification Service for the industry. The service perfectly matches Target 12.4, 12.5 and 12.6 of UN Sustainable Development Goal 12: Ensure Sustainable Consumption and Production Patterns.

Industrial waste is a necessary component of the manufacturing process, but managing and disposing of it offers a significant problem to manufacturing site owners. One of the most popular methods of garbage disposal in landfill. However, using this disposal approach may result in a number of environmental problems, such as soil, water, and air pollution. Therefore, proper waste management and disposal must be a part of industries' sustainability policies and set up measurable targets from this to drive actions.

The Zero Waste to Landfill Certification Service from Eurofins Assurance uses a laser-focused approach to assess and verify the level of effort made by businesses to minimize waste disposal to landfills. The service was developed for various industries by environmental audit experts with a focus on solid waste and hazardous waste areas.

Businesses will receive Zero Waste to Landfill Certificates once the entire audit procedure is finished. Three stages of achievement are recognized with certificates: Advanced Trash Diversion Certificate, Near Zero Waste to Landfill Certificate, and Zero Waste to Landfill Certificate. These levels show that over 99%, 95% to 99%, and 85% to 99% of waste have been diverted from landfills, respectively.

With statistics, reports, and certificates that show actionable items, improvement, and achievement, the service aids clients in supporting their claims regarding trash management. Additionally, it offers the company's operations the much-needed transparency, as increased public disclosure is predicted as firms transition to a more collaborative and interesting ESG landscape.
