The Ethiopian Textile Industry Development Institute for the enhancement of textile industry development signed a cooperation agreement with the Italian Trade Agency. The agreement includes Euros 200,000 assistance for technology and equipment dedicated to local training.

General Director of Ethiopian Textile Industry Development Institute Seleshi Lemma said that the assistance will help to improve its capability through training and technology.

Speaking on the occasion, Italian ambassador to Ethiopia Giuseppe Mistretta said that the Ethiopian government has given high priority to textile industry development.

The Italian government is committed to support Ethiopia’s efforts in realizing goals related to textile industry through various initiatives.

Through the 'Italy-Ethiopia textile technology center' project, Ethiopian enterprises, small, medium and large scale operating in the textile industry will be the key beneficiaries of the assistance.
