Eastman has joined hands with Huafon Chemical to set up a shared facility for producing cellulose acetate yarn. This new plant will focus on the local production of Eastman’s Naia cellulose acetate filament yarns within China.
“China is the largest hub for textile manufacturing and a leader in product and technology innovation,” said Ruth Farrell, general manager of Eastman’s Textiles division. “This partnership will increase our production capacity, boost innovation, and improve the development of Naia yarn. It will also help Eastman in its goal of making sustainable textiles available to more people.”
The collaboration highlights Eastman’s strong, long-term commitment to the Chinese market and strengthens its presence in the country by allowing a faster and more flexible supply chain to meet customer needs.
“By working with Eastman, we hope to combine our local strengths with global resources to create a fully localised process, from technology and product development to production and service,” said Congdeng Yang, director of the Huafon-Eastman cooperation programme.
