Dubow Textile plans to expand its existing facility, 3rd expansion in 5 years

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2015-05-02 11:00:00 – USA

For two decades, Dubow Textile Inc. has worked to set a standard of excellence in the custom textile industry. The owner of Dubow Textile Inc. is planning at adding 21,000 square feet to existing facility by mid-August.

The $1.5 million expansion project would take place on the north side of the location, 455 Lincoln Ave. NE. Dubow said that he plans to immediately invest in $600,000 worth of new equipment once the expansion nears completion.

This expansion will cover their current needs and their future growth. This is the third expansion project the company has undertaken in the past five years.

The company is rapidly growing due to the commitment they make to their customers and their investment in technology, Dubow said.

Dubow Textile is requesting a grant from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development's Job Creation Fund to complete the addition.

The St. Cloud City Council will be asked to support the DEED application at its next meeting. Right now they are proceeding with the planning as if all of the approvals have been met, Dubow said.

Dubow and his wife, Robin, grew the business out of a garage after purchasing the company from a friend. Within six months Dubow Textile relocated to a 3,500-square-foot facility. By 1994, it had moved once more — to its current location, with a 20,000-square-foot building.

In 2011, the company undertook the first major expansion phase. Dubow added 32,500 square feet. Two years later the company added 6,500 square feet.

Along with the growth of the building's size, Dubow has expanded their services to include in-house graphic designers, digital printing machines, a laser applique machine and various screen print machines. Dubow said the bulk of his orders still come from embroidery. With this expansion,

Dubow plans to add more industrial embroidery machines.

They have invested heavily in infrastructure as they understand the techniques and the wants and needs of their customers.

The company employs 75 people. After the expansion is completed, they estimate tol add 20 full-time positions.

Dubow has also built a paperless production system to meet the needs and request of our customers and provide an efficient process that keeps them informed from the moment they place an order until it is received.
