Designer unveils sustainable unisex fashion brand, Oshin

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2024-01-26 16:35:21 – India

Mumbai-based designer and entrepreneur Oshin Sarin introduces 'Oshin' as a sustainable clothing brand, marking its debut with a new e-commerce store featuring fully unisex collections.

Unlike traditional distinctions of 'menswear' and 'womenswear,' Oshin's clothing is categorized by 'body type,' emphasizing inclusivity and encouraging shoppers to explore their unique styles. The brand's aim is to redefine unisex fashion, moving away from the perception that oversized clothing solely defines it.

Oshin's initial collection spotlights denim, featuring indigo to light wash ensembles that include maxi dresses and blazers with matching shorts. The brand introduces its own sizing system, further promoting inclusivity in fashion.

Oshin Sarin, a Parsons graduate with a BFA in fashion design, gained experience working for Brooklyn-based label Alix of Bohemia before returning to India. The decision to launch 'Oshin' stems from Sarin's desire to express global influences through her label and pursue sustainable production practices.
