The United Arab Emirates ranks third in the world in terms of textile exports. It is also the fourth largest trading centre for fashion and apparel. To tap this potential market a 100-member delegation from Indian textile and garment industry would be visiting the United Arab Emirates next month.

The business delegation will be lead by A Sakthivel, Chairman of Federation of Indian Export Organisation, They would also be taking part in the International Apparel and Textile Fair a three day event to be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre between November 1 and 3, a press release said.

This event showcases product from Apparel & Clothing, Lifestyle & Fashion, Textile, Fabrics & Yarns industries. Exhibitors are mainly from Europe, India, China, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Turkey and various other high-end manufacturers from around the world.

During the visit, the traders would be displaying fashion readymade and fashion garments at the Indian pavilion. By the participation in the trade fair, FIEO envisages to serve major GCC countries directly.

Currently, India's textile and garment export is focused to Europe and United States markets.
