Crystal International uses natural mineral powders to dye denim

Hong Kong-based apparel manufacturer, Crystal International, said that it has released a new denim collection that adopts a sustainable natural over-dyed approach.

Celadonite, hematite, and grains are used in the technique, which the manufacturer claims create bright colors, casts, tints, and depths. Additionally, the powders are said to be highly reproducible and salt-free.

According to Crystal International, the dyes are registered under the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and adhere to the Oeko-Tex Standard and the Global Recycled Standard (GRS).

The denim line also makes use of waterless enzyme, laser, and ozone procedures, as well as other environmentally friendly, water-efficient washing techniques. According to the business, each process saves one ton of water as a result.

The use of natural dyes in this collection offers the market a variety of unusual denim colors, says Miles Lam, assistant general manager of Crystal Denim. In order to accommodate denim trends, we want to keep our sustainable features.

In all of its divisions, Crystal International strives to produce more cutting-edge sustainable goods. They include sportswear, sweaters, intimates, denim, and outdoor clothing.

The company, which runs a multi-country manufacturing platform, was established in Hong Kong in 1970. It has 20 production facilities spread across five nations: Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, China, Vietnam, and Cambodia.
