Outdoor brand Columbia Sportswear has reopened 30 of its branded stores in ten countries, bringing back more than 250 of its furloughed retail workers.
These stores will follow measures to prevent coronavirus, such as needing face coverings for employees, adjusting shop layouts for social distancing and delaying the restocking of clothing tried in matching rooms for 24 hours.
The business said, "Employees will clean high touch points frequently and cashiers will wear gloves. The reopening of these 30 stores follows the initial reopening of a Columbia-branded store in Nebraska a week."
Even though COVID-19 forced the company to close stores around the world, its e-commerce company has continued along with the US distribution centers that have largely remained operational.
The business will launch a checkout charity effort to help fund relief efforts in the communities in which it operates.
