Colombiatex of the Americas, upcoming textile trade fair of Colombia will be held in Plaza Mayor Medellín from January 21 to 23, 2014 where nearly 1,750 international buyers from 28 countries, 8,400 national buyers and more than 500 exhibitors from countries, such as Colombia, India, Spain, Brazil, Mexico, Pakistan, Ecuador, Peru, Singapore, Italy, the United States, Turkey, and Portugal, among others, will gather.

The Fair will be the starting point of the businesses for the year as it is expected to generate business opportunities for more than USD 150 million. With the intention of exploring new trade opportunities and expanding sales in textile and apparel sector, the upcoming textile trade fair Colombiatex of the Americas 2014, would invite entrepreneurs from the textile and apparel sector from the Pacific Alliance nations, comprising of Latin American countries such as Peru, Chile, Mexico as well as Colombia to participate in the fair, in order to promote business opportunities.

Carlos Eduardo Botero, CEO of Institute for Exports and Fashion (INEXMODA) of Colombia, said that together with Mexico, Peru and Chile, Colombia is working on a deal that positions these countries as a trading bloc in the global market, by leveraging competitive advantages of each of the member nations and approaching markets with existing free trade agreements (FTAs).

Colombiatex of the Americas has been the main business hub for Latin America's textile sector for 25 years, and buyers will have the opportunity to source various products including textile raw materials such as chemicals, fibers, linens, cotton and filament yarns, in addition to apparel supplies like buttons, buckles, zippers, laces, lining, woven labels and collars.

The Colombiatex of the Americas fair would provide an opportunity for entrepreneurs to go Beyond Limits as it is time to act, to seek alternatives to reach consumers in surprising ways and find newer ways to appeal to consumers, in order to make their experience of shopping much more than just choosing and paying. It is giving users a voice, listening to them and allowing them to participate in the construction of the brand to meet the objectives proposed, stated Carlos Eduardo Botero Hoyos, Executive President of Inexmoda, in referring to the call Inexmoda is making to the industry in 2014.

In this urban plaza, fashion in an unstructured form will show the many uses of textiles and how they transcend to the final product, through stagings held throughout the day. Under the concept Beyond Limits, Inexmoda is inviting Fashion System entrepreneurs to participate in Colombiatex of the Americas 2014 and share their knowledge, to join forces, to be amazed and to act.
