PROCOLOMBIA is a government agency in Colombia to host important events in 2015 to connect Colombian exporters and international buyers. One of the event expected of next yearâ€™s first quarter is the 55th Matchmaking Forum where more than 2,000 Colombian companies from the Apparel, Agribusiness, Manufacturing, and Services sectors will be present, showcasing their products that offer several competitive advantages for international importers.
Maria Claudia Lacouture, president of PROCOLOMBIA said that the Matchmaking Forum presents several opportunities for entrepreneurs to diversify markets, take advantage of free trade agreements in force and get to know the diverse offer of Colombian products.
Registered buyers will be able to schedule one-on-one business meetings with Colombian exporters and they will receive personalized support from Procolombia advisors.
Procolombia expects more than 80 buyers from Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, Guyana, Barbados, Surinam, St. Lucia, Guadalupe, Aruba, Curacao and the Bahamas.
The relationships between local buyers and Colombian exporters will be strengthened with the support of PROCOLOMBIA in events like the Matchmaking forum. Matchmaking Forum will be held on February 19-20, 2015 at the Corferias Great Hall in Bogota.
The product diversity during the 50th Matchmaking Forum this past February 2014, was one of the main characteristics that attracted international buyers to the event. Particularly in the Caribbean, exports to the region remain on high demand for the upcoming 55thMatchmaking Forum. According to the National Administrative Department of Statistics, DANE, Colombian exports to the Caribbean reached US $449 million from January to October 2014.
Other important event taking place in Colombia during the first quarter of 2015 is Colombiatex 2015. International buyers of raw materials, textiles, apparel, and full package items will have the opportunity to meet with 450 Colombian manufacturers at Colombiatex 2015.
This is Colombiaâ€™s specialized apparel manufacturing tradeshow and it is the most important business forum for this industry in Latin America.
