Clerici Tessuto steps closer to marine revolution

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2020-07-13 13:18:27 – Italy

Clerici Tessuto has come to an agreement with the leading environmental organization Parley, to produce luxury fabric using a Global Recycled Standard (GRS) polyester yarn, constructed using up-cycled marine plastic debris procured from beaches, islands, and coastal communities.

In order to bridge the gap between fashion and eco innovation, Clerici Tessuto has established this collaboration to connect high-end fabric production with Parley’s Ocean Plastic. The aim of this partnership is to help drive a textile revolution required to terminate the marine plastic pollution while abiding with Parley’s AIR Strategy to Avoid, Intercept, Redesign.

Cyrill Gutsch, Parley founder and CEO believes that the fashion industry is seen as the reflection of society and new luxury fulfills this purpose. To end the 'toxic Age' has remained Parley's mission and this partnership facilitates the company to stand on a Global platform and strengthen its drive for the ‘Material Revolution’. Cyrill claims that Clerici Tessuto is among the most vital textile manufacturers in the world for the luxury sector and together the vision could potentially define the future of the planet. The CEO requests consumers to join the drive that collaborates creativity with eco-innovation.

Cleric Tessuto worked on its production and finishing process in order to gain the quality requested by the luxury segment and develop the best results for this polyester based textile.

Stefano Bernasconi CEO at Clerici Tessuto stated that the collaboration with Parley would take them a step closer towards protecting the ecosystems and contributing to saving the planet for the upcoming generations by daily behavior and through their products. By incorporating deep knowledge of the industry, top-level creativity, and sustainable value chain  Clerici Tessuto is able to produce high quality and lasting luxury fabrics. Paley’s mission has enabled Clerici Tessuto to design and realize initiatives focusing on changing the perspective and mindset of consumers. This collaboration will allow Clerici Tessuto to transform Parley GRS yarns into high-end fabrics dedicated to top global brands for both beachwear and womenswear. Stefano believes that this partnership would allow both the companies to transit towards a circular economy and create a better future by outstanding quality initiatives and fabrics.
