Cintas in collaboration Austin Reed creates new suit collection using DuPont’s Sorona fibre

Cintas Corporation, US corporate apparel business in collaboration with Austin Reed has created a new suit collection using DuPont’s Sorona a sustainable textile fibre, together with wool and recycled polyester. Sorona fiber can be blended with any other fiber, including cotton, linen, wool, nylon and polyester. In cotton and linen blends, Sorona provides softness and comfort stretch with less wrinkles. Wool’s softness and durability are enhanced when blended with Sorona.

DuPont Sorona uses renewable plant-based ingredients to produce its innovative biopolymer for production into textile yarns to help reduce dependence on fossil fuels and petrochemicals and provide a more sustainable sourcing alternative for retailers and brands.

The collection consists of options for both men and women and uses fabric which, it is claimed, reduces carbon dioxide emissions used in the manufacturing process by as much as 63 per cent.

Cintas’ partnership with Austin Reed has resulted in environmentally friendly and fashionable garments that blend functionality, comfort and innovation.

Cintas is committed to identifying sustainable options that not only lessen the impact of their manufacturing processes, but also allow their customers to reduce their environmental footprint.

According to Kristin Sharp, director of design, Cintas Corporation, using DuPont Sorona have been done for the first time which is possible due to advancements in fabric technology, this collection provides employees with tailored, breathable and durable garments while being environmentally conscious. The AR Red Suiting Collection is an excellent addition to the overall Cintas portfolio of workplace apparel.

Garments in the AR Red Suiting Collection include the Grafton Blazer, Celeste Blazer, Kensington Modern Slacks and Devoe Skirt for women and Lenox Blazer and Crosby Pants for men.

With Sorona, Mills, designers and manufacturers can offer consumers sustainable clothing that is supremely wearable, easy to care for and more gentle on the planet.
