CIEL Textile partners with Serai to improve supply chain traceability

Serai, a digital B2B platform that makes global commerce easier, has teamed up with CIEL Textile to map out and track product-level order flow throughout their worldwide supply chain.

CIEL Textile will be able to access and integrate complicated supply chain information from numerous sources using Serai’s Traceability technology, giving them complete insight into their worldwide supply chain. Simultaneously, they will be able to gather and analyze key indicators that will aid them in achieving their sustainability objectives.

This is the first time CIEL Textile has partnered with a business to obtain such in-depth supply chain transparency.

Vivek Ramachandran, Chief Executive Officer, Serai, said that CIEL Textile has long been a leader in the pursuit of innovation and sustainability. They will be able to effortlessly gather and manage data from their supply chain partners using Serai’s Traceability solution. Having all of this data in one place can assist them in increasing operational efficiency, managing underlying risks, and ultimately achieving more transparency and confidence in their extended supply chain.

The fact that CIEL Textile had a broad variety of systems and solutions scattered around the organization was a major challenge. Their garment production used a range of materials in knitted and woven textiles, including cotton, cellulosic fibers, and wool, which made transparency farther upstream problematic. Serai’s approach was adaptable to changing needs and could be connected with CIEL Textile’s existing solutions.

Bertrand Thevenau, Chief Executive Officer of TROPIC and Chairman of the CIEL Textile Sustainability Committee, said that more supply chain transparency is being demanded by consumers and regulators. Furthermore, across their company, sustainability is increasingly recognized as a significant driver of innovation. It’s critical to them that their supply chain is ethical and consistent with their beliefs. Transparency also aids them in maintaining long-term relationships with their customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders that are built on trust and open communication. Their newly published Sustainability Report tells it all.”

Following a review of a few technology providers, Serai was picked based on a set of criteria that included the extent of the traceability, the solution’s adaptability, and the integration of global standards to track the sustainability performance of CIEL Textile’s suppliers.

Vivek added that they’re on their way to a future where consumers and regulators demand greater transparency. This is only the beginning of the Traceability solution. They continue to add solutions with the goal of making supply chains more sustainable, ethical, and dependable.
