Chinese textile group Sunrise has started building a new textile factory in Morocco through its newly formed subsidiary, Euwen Textiles. Construction has begun in the Bensouda industrial area of Fez. The Euwen Textiles facility is planned as a fully integrated unit that will cover the complete textile and clothing production process. This includes yarn and fabric manufacturing, weaving, dyeing, textile printing, and the production of finished garments.
The factory will be spread across 20 hectares and will have a yearly capacity of 248,000 spinning spindles, 21,600 tonnes of knitted fabric, and 54 million metres of woven fabric. This production is expected to support the manufacturing of approximately 41 million to 50 million garments each year.
Project representatives stated that Fez and Skhirat were chosen based on strong logistics, skilled local workers, and modern industrial facilities that match the company’s requirements. Overall, Sunrise’s investment is expected to boost Morocco’s textile manufacturing strength, which mainly serves international markets.
