China show keen interest in Coimbatore industrial projects

A Chinese delegation of four, comprising Dr Youfa, Commercial Counsellor Liu Guoyu and two Vice Consuls — Chong Li and Cong Lu on a tour in Coimbatore region, reaching out to industrialists to consider investing in China and identifying the competitive advantages of such investments , both sides.

The Consul-General of the People’s Republic of China, Liu Youfa, acknowledged that China is passing through the second round of industrial readjustment.

The process started three years back. It will take some more time to resettle the workers.

Dr Youfa when asked about the reported closure of textile mills in China said that it is indeed a difficult period, but India and China can engage in a dialogue to strengthen their ties and industrial relations.

The Southern India Mills’ Association (SIMA) organized the visit to the hi-tech weaving park near Palladam and a couple to textile mills in the region for the visiting Chinese delegation who have shown keen interest in investing in industrial projects either in Coimbatore or in China.

The response received from the Chinese delegation has been quite positive as they have shown willingness to hold a dialogue and a tie-up with the investors in Coimbatore.
