UK-based Blackman & White (BW Cutters) designs and builds specialist cutting machines for businesses across the world to showcase the Versa Tech laser cutting of textiles and other interchangeable tools for cutting of graphic materials at FESPA Cologne 2015 which is to be held from 18-22 May.

The company, which designs and manufactures its own range of large format cutters from its base in Essex, has recently added the cutter to its MasterCut range. They will be arranging personalized demonstrating the 3.2m wide model with laser at FESPA for which they have invited potential customers from print and sign companies to join them to discuss the benefits their cutters can bring to their workflow.

The Versa Tech is the result of 10 years of product development. According to the manufacturer, it offers the ultimate in tool versatility and accuracy, with crease, kiss cut, router, drag knife, oscillating knife and driven rotary knife and laser all available on a single conveyorised or flatbed heavy-duty table.

The sign and graphics market is always moving at a furious pace with innovations in both media and print technology, and our customers rely on the ability to diversify and handle new materials to capitalise on the opportunities that brings, explained Managing Director Alex White.

Customers can purchase one tool initially, then add others over time to meet increasingly varied production needs and spread the cost. Dual driven tooling with interchangeable drop-in tools, both oscillating head and driven wheel, is said to allow for easy and quick change of cutting technique.

The Versa Tech is able to cut widths up to 3.2m, and to carry out long production runs on heavy duty materials, such as acrylics and DIBOND, thanks to the addition of a 2.5kW water-cooled router. The 100w laser is an invaluable option for textile cutting, the company reports.

It is said to offer high-precision, top quality output with a fast return on investment. The machine runs on a linear rack, keeping costs down as no belt replacement is needed, and ensuring accuracy is maintained over time.

Established in 1964, they have been at the forefront of technology for more than 45 years. They have created a unique range of high quality machinery with longevity; pioneer multi-tool laser cutters within the textile world and; launch specialist cutting tools for the filtration and graphics industries which help work faster, more accurately and reduce waste.
