Being the first-ever trade event in the Philippines to focus on promoting the wearables, textile and leather sectors, the expo served as a venue where 11 local and 70 international companies showcased export-quality products, and connect with investors to discuss business opportunities.
The expo also arranged a chain of factory visits for investors, business matching and forums which were open to the public.
Trade Secretary and BOI Chairman Ramon M. Lopez mentioned the many reforms being done by the administration to ensure sustainable economic growth in the Philippines that will support the growth of many industries, including wearables and textile, in his message during the opening ceremony of the expo.
He also underscored the Department of Trade and Industry’s commitment to assist stakeholders from the garments, textile and leather-goods sector, through the Manufacturing Resurgence Strategy and other initiatives underway.
One of the highlights of the expo was the Philippine Pavilion, which showcased products from promising local enterprises.
