The Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Swisscontact to support sustainable and inclusive development in the country's key knitwear industry.

The MoU was signed at BKMEA’s Dhaka office by Vice President Akhter Hossain Apurbo and Swisscontact Bangladesh’s Team Leader Bidowra Tahmin Khan, representing the collaborative efforts under the 'PROGRESS,' 'InSPIRE,' and 'BYETS' initiatives.

The ceremony was attended by senior representatives from both sides, including BKMEA Vice President Mohammad Rashed and Director Minhazul Hoque, highlighting their shared commitment to fostering responsible industry growth.

The agreement outlines joint efforts in several critical areas, such as skill development for women and youth, improving social and environmental compliance, promoting renewable energy, and boosting sustainability and resilience at the factory level. These initiatives aim to align the knitwear sector with global standards for long-term competitiveness and environmental responsibility.
