Björn Borg partners with We aRe SpinDye

Swedish cleantech company We aRe SpinDye (WRSD) and Swedish fashion brand Björn Borg, has announced a collaboration agreement that will allow the two firms to work together to reduce the environmental impact of textile dyeing in the manufacture of Björn Borg’s collections.

The firms have agreed on the terms of their collaboration and a strategy for the implementation of WRSD’s resource-efficient dyeing process into practice. The deal reached today establishes the groundwork for a long-term partnership that benefits both the corporations and the environment.

Andreas Andrén, CEO of WRSD, said that they’re ecstatic to be able to share the news of Björn Borg’s partnership with WRSD. Björn Borg is a brand with a product range that matches incredibly well with WRSD’s offering.

Björn Borg AB’s Product and Sustainability Manager, Mija Nideborn,, said that they’re committed to following the UN’s 1.5-degree target and their work with WRSD is totally in line with that. Sustainability is one of three main areas for their operations, and they are committed to following the UN’s 1.5-degree objective. Production accounts for up to 98% of their emissions, with the dyeing process accounting for a considerable portion of it. They save a lot of water and chemicals, as well as waste, energy, and CO2 emissions, thanks to the WRSD process. They will employ WRSD for a variety of clothes in their Spring/Summer, High Summer, and Autumn/Winter collections 2023.
