After a two-year break due to the Covid-19 outbreak, the Bangladesh Denim Expo will return to Dhaka next month.
On the 10th and 11th of May, the Bangladesh Denim Expo will reopen at the International Convention City, Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka, with organizers emphasizing a sustainability focus and a primary theme of 'Beyond Business.'
The show's twelfth edition will focus on new chances for successful and long-term business in a world that increasingly requires industry leaders to go "Beyond Business," according to organizers.
The Bangladesh Denim Expo will feature 79 exhibitors, both local and foreign, who will display fabrics, garments, threads, machinery, finishing equipment, and accessories.
The event will include eight seminar sessions led by exhibitors and two-panel discussions, all of which will revolve around the theme of sustainability.
Sector experts will assemble, according to organizers, to debate how the denim industry can improve, not only from an economic standpoint but also in terms of social and environmental implications and aims.
Show organizer, Mostafiz Uddin, who also serves as managing director of Bangladesh-based jeans manufacturer Denim Expert Limited, said that the world is a slightly different place since the last edition of this event, which took place two years ago. Denim supply chains have been subjected to significant volatility and change, forcing them to innovate and adapt in order to survive and stay relevant. The pandemic has compelled suppliers to focus much more on environmental concerns. In the post-pandemic era, that is what global customers expect, and this message is being conveyed down supply chains by fashion labels and stores.
Uddin added that their show will serve as a lightning rod for these concerns, bringing together some of the world's most progressive, forward-thinking denim producers to display fresh ideas and the most cutting-edge technical breakthroughs that are propelling our industry ahead.
