Atelier Jolie and Chloé launch sustainable collection

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2023-10-30 16:44:54 – USA

Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie's special project, Atelier Jolie, has taken a big step toward sustainability with its first collection made in partnership with Chloé. This collection, created alongside former Chloé creative director Gabriela Hearst, features a range of classic clothing items in neutral colors.

This collaboration focuses on using deadstock materials (leftover materials from the fashion industry) and natural fabrics like organic silk, organic crepe de chine, and wool. More than 80% of the collection uses "lower-impact materials," showing a commitment to reducing the fashion industry's environmental impact.

The clothing line includes items like a tan camisole with a fancy neckline, a black well-fitted blazer, a white suit vest, and a dark velvet cloak. Notably, there's a white tank top in this collection inspired by an embroidered cotton dress from Angelina Jolie's childhood, which has been repurposed into a shirt.

Beyond just fashion, this collection has partnered with organizations like Akanjo and La Fabrique Nomade to make a positive impact. Akanjo, a World Fair Trade Organization, supports artisans in Madagascar, while La Fabrique Nomade helps refugee and migrant artisans in France. These partnerships align with the ethical values of Atelier Jolie and Chloé, extending their reach beyond clothing.
