Armedangels, a German denim brand, has taken a new step toward reducing textile waste. The brand has launched a new denim collection made with SaXcell fiber, a high-quality lyocell produced from textile waste. Armedangels is the first brand to create products using this innovative, circular material.
SaXcell is made from 30 percent RCS-certified cotton sourced from both pre- and post-consumer textile waste, combined with 70 percent FSC-certified wood pulp. This mix results in a fiber that is both resource-efficient and durable.
Armedangels' website features a diagram explaining SaXcell’s closed-loop recycling process. It shows how old garments are collected, sorted, decolored, and turned into pulp before being transformed into SaXcell fiber, which is then spun and woven into new textiles.
"Armedangels represents innovation and responsibility in fashion. By introducing SaXcell, we aim to set a new standard for progress and accountability in the textile industry. This is fashion that respects the planet and supports a sustainable future," the brand said in a statement.
