Swiss specialty chemicals company Archroma has introduced Cyclanon XC-W e, a new washing-off auxiliary designed to improve the efficiency and sustainability of dyeing cellulosic fabrics.
The new product tackles common problems with traditional washing-off agents. Archroma explained that ineffective removal of unfixed dye can result in excessive rinsing, multiple washing steps, and potential quality issues such as back staining and uneven color.
Cyclanon XC-W e solves these problems by ensuring excellent color fastness, even in challenging conditions with high salt content or hard water. It allows easier removal of excess dye, reducing the need for pre-rinsing and cutting down the number of washing baths. This leads to shorter washing cycles, saving mills time, water, energy, and chemicals compared to conventional agents.
According to Archroma, the new solution can help mills reduce water usage, CO₂ emissions, and chemical consumption by up to 20%. Additionally, processing time can be shortened by up to 15%.
Dhirendra Gautam, Archroma’s Vice President of Global Marketing and Strategy, stated: “With Cyclanon XC-W e, we’re expanding on our proven trio-polymer platform to help mills meet growing brand demands for high-quality, long-lasting casualwear while lowering environmental impact—and all this at a similar cost to conventional washing-off products.”
