Arab Carpet Expo 2015 to open on 1 October in Abu Dhabi

The first edition of Arab Flooring Expo incorporating Arab Carpet Expo, Yarn and Fiber Expo and the International Green Carpet and Flooring Conference in 2015 will open from 1 October 2015. The four day event is aimed at providing a set of world-class international events in the symbolic city of Abu Dhabi at the award-winning ADNEC venue.

Abu Dhabi is the symbolic and chosen city for these events due to the presence of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque which owns the world’s largest Hand-Made Carpet and has world-class Mosaic Stone Flooring from Italy. This unique carpet was made especially for Abu Dhabi and the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque by around 1,300 Iranian carpet knotters. It measures over 5,600 sqm, weighs 35 tonnes, has approximately 2.27 billion knots and took approximately 2 years to complete! It was made from Cotton, and Wool sourced from New Zealand and Iran.

This event although is its first edition claims that no other event in the MENA region provides a platform such as this.

The Arab Carpet Expo will focus specifically on hand-made and machine-made carpets and rugs, standard industrial, commercial and residential carpet and any other carpet floor covering. It also includes their manufacture, laying, machinery, cleaning and application technologies, peripheral sales, marketing and services.

Yarn & Fiber Expo focuses purely on the Yarn, Fiber and related Raw Materials, Technologies and Innovations in this part of the industry. This special focus is important because it provides an opportunity for raw material providers to make direct contact with manufacturers.

Arab Carpet Expo is organised by Exco Media of London which is member of Association of Event Organisers, UK. The supporting associations include APID (Association of Interior Designers), Contractors Association. Key supporters include Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) and Abu Dhabi Tourism & Cultural Authority.

Shaw Group of USA and Al Sorayai Group of Saudi Arabia are the strategic sponsors of this event.
